Copy, Scan, Print

You can use book scanners for free at LUL. High quality scans can be produced and saved on a flash drive. The scanners are book friendly, environmentally friendly, quiet and low-emission.

At each branch of Leipzig University Library copiers, with the option to print PDF from flash drives, are available. This service is offered by Canon Deutschland University Services GmbH.

To have any credit remaining on your UniCard/Library Card refunded, please contact Servicepoint UniCard in Goethestr. 3-5.

Your UniCard or library card serves as your copy card. 

Loading stations to top up the copy account are located at:

Prices (As of October 2023)

• Copy/print A4 (b/w) each 0,06 €
• Copy/print A3 (b/w) each 0,12 €
• Copy/print A4 (color) each 0,14 €
• Copy/print A3 (color) each 0,28 €

You may copy parts of all materials published after 1920 if no copy rights or restrictions due to the material's preservation status apply.

Rare, fragile or large-sized materials that are not suitable for copying or scanning are labled accordingly. For items of the Special Collections special regulations apply.

In consideration of copy rights, taking photographs (without flash) is allowed. This does not apply for the special collections and materials too fragile. They are labelled accordingly.

All materials of our special collections (autographs, ancient prints etc.) or other material that is only allowed to use in the Special Collections reading room may not be copied, scanned or photographed. Request reproductions here: sondersammlungen@ub.uni-leipzig.de

Certain items, especially rare or fragile ones, may only be copied or scanned liable to fees by our digitization department. 

Send your requests to: info@ub.uni-leipzig.de or ask the staff at the service desks.

You receive your orders as digitized copy via e-mail or download or as paper copies at the service desks at Bibliotheca Albertina, 2^nd floor, east wing. You can pay cash or at the pay machines. If you want your copies sent by post, shipping costs are added.
